OLGIVY & MATHER - Allstate Olympic screensaver

A 60 second animated Olympic Screen Saver was created for Ogilvy and Mathers’s client Allstate Insurance to mark the opening of the Beijing Olympics. It will be displayed on computers company wide. The project was created in Flash showing Crew 972 ability to present animation in diverse formats. It is minimalist, fun and the hand drawn sketchy style contributes it’s broad appeal.

President and Co Founder Alex Orrelle, Director Jean-Phillipe Vine and Senior Designer/animator Nir Hirschfield have been invited to Florence, Italy, to deliver a seminar at the NEMO NT Accademia delle Arti Digitali and to receive the Nemoland Prize 2008. Every year the event presents honors to talented artists and animators, and we are delighted to receive this award. Alex and JP will be conducting presentations on traditional animation and 3D animation to university students and leading Italian studio professionals who will be attending this event this year.

Crew 972 will provide character animation for a section of the Perez, el ratoncito de tus suenos directed by Andres Schaer, for Bren Productions, the 3D animation arm of Filmax. Spain’s Filmax (The Legend of El Cid, Gisaku) has emerged as one of the most prominent European animation studios in the past few years. Argentina’s Patagonik and Spain’s Filmax, are co-owners of the property.

Take immediate right which is a U-Turn. Soon you’ll see a bridge ramp for buses on your left. Take the next left at the light which will take you under the bridge ramp onto Ha’hagana. Take the next right (about 50 meters) at the light, this is Levanda Street. Go straight on Levanda crossing through the next light (Levinsky). In two blocks you’ll see number 43, a large corner building on the left with neon blue light strips. That’s us. Heading NORTH on Ayalon: Take Ayalon exit Kibbutz Gelliot. Jean-Philip Vine

Jean-Philip Vine, formerly of Aardman, has joined Crew 972 as a Creative Director to develop original projects for film and TV. A classically trained Illustrator and Set-Dresser, JP joined Aardman in 2004 to pursue a career in animation, starting with work on Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and then as a Story artist and Director on Aardman's TV series Shaun the Sheep. “I am very happy Jean-Philip is with us.” says Alex Orrelle. ''He has a natural sense of story and design, and he's so funny! This is going to be a lot of fun...''

A 15 second Mountain Dew spot for broascast in Japan was completed today, We animated a dynamic skateboarder chasing a Mountain Dew bottle up and down a half-pipe, being held up by a gigantic green gorrila. Models and rendering were made by client, Eyeball-NYC. A clip is available on our website.

Crew 972 produces original animation music video for Israel’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest “Push the button” by Tea Packs. We wish them the best of luck for winning the contest. Tea Packs lead singer Kobi Oz and Alex Orrelle are collaborating on the development of a theatrical short film.

Crew 972 is invited to provide 23 mins of character animation for animated feature film Sir Billi staring Academy Award winner Sir Sean Connery. Sir Billi will be Connery's first ever voice-over role for an animated film. Sir Billi is an adventure story about the power of a remote Scottish community held together by an eccentric, skate-boarding veterinarian. Tony award winner Alan Cumming co-stars and other voiceovers are provided by high-profile actors including Miriam Margolyes ( Harry Potter, Romeo & Juliet) and Richard Briers (Monarch of the Glen, Peter Pan). The film is being produced by Billi Productions Ltd (http://www.billiproductions.com/) , a company set up by Glasgow Animation Ltd and Sir Sean Connery himself. Lior Goldberg, CEO of Crew972, said: '' We are thrilled to be working with the Billi Productions team in Glasgow. They are passionate about this film and dedicated to putting Glasgow on the world animation map.''
